Kristen began her journey with Manuia Polynesian Revue in San Francisco/Daly City, a group founded by her parents, Tommy and Camille Tualaulelei, in 1996. Immersed in the culture from an early age, Kristen has been dancing Tahitian and Hula since the age of 3. Her love for dance and natural talent for teaching led her to begin instructing at just 16 years old at Manuia’s Daly City studio.
Over the years, Kristen has helped lead Manuia through multiple group competitions, managing and choreographing for more than 80 dancers at a time. She has had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge and artistry through collaboration with Manuia’s sister group in Tahiti, Tamariki Poerani—bringing authentic and captivating choreography to life for students and audiences alike.
In 2022, Kristen, along with her husband Fredo and daughter Kailana, relocated to Rocklin, California. With a desire to continue sharing her passion, she launched Manuia Rocklin in March 2023. The group began practicing in community spaces such as Johnson-Springview Park Activity Room, Rocklin High School, and Whitney High School, before opening their very own studio at Blue Oaks Town Center in March 2024.
Outside of the studio, Kristen enjoys quality time with her family, exploring new places and foods, and relaxing with her favorite game—Animal Crossing: New Horizons on her Nintendo Switch.
