Music and movement have been the heartbeat of Christine’s life since the age of three. Her journey began with tap, jazz, and ballet, but she found a deep and lasting connection to the Pacific Islands at age eight. It was then that she began exploring her own heritage through traditional Filipino folk dance while also studying Hula and Tahitian with Hula Halau O Lokelani. By the age of 10, she was singing in choirs and playing the flute and piccolo. This early musical foundation sparked a lifelong love for the grace of dance, harmony in vocals, and the beauty of song.
After focusing on her teaching career, getting married, moving to Roseville, and having her children, Christine felt the call to return to her musical roots. Finding Manuia Rocklin felt like a homecoming; although twenty years had passed since she last donned a floral pareu, she joined the studio’s inaugural class and immediately fell in love with the culture and community all over again.
Today, Christine blends her passion for the arts with her professional expertise as a Math Instructional Coach. Her background in education allows her to break down choreography with the same patience and clarity she uses to coach teachers, helping her students at Manuia Rocklin find their own rhythm and confidence. When she isn't assisting with Wahine Hula and Beginner Vahine Ori classes, Christine is a dedicated wife and mother of three who enjoys adventures with her family, reading on her Kindle, and snacking on dark chocolate with an oat milk coffee.
